Following the success of the initial fit20 studio in Exeter, owned by Duncan Attwood, new studios are now opening in Torquay and Plymouth. This expansion will bring the innovative fit20 training method to a broader audience, offering more people in Devon with an opportunity to improve their health and fitness.

The success of fit20 Exeter

Duncan Attwood, the franchise owner of fit20 Exeter, has seen remarkable success since opening this, his first studio. The Exeter location has become known for its high-quality, personalised training sessions that deliver impressive results with just one 20-minute session per week. Duncan’s own transformation and passion for fitness have driven the studio’s growth and popularity.

“I believe in the transformative power of strength training,” Duncan says. “Our method at fit20 allows people to gain strength and improve their health efficiently, which fits perfectly into busy lifestyles. The results we’ve seen in Exeter are a testament to the effectiveness of our training model.” (See our Interview with Duncan Attwood and hear more about the journey of fit20 in Devon.)

New studios in Torquay and Plymouth

Building on the success in Exeter, Duncan is about to open a new fit20 studio in Torquay. The Torquay studio is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and staffed by highly trained professionals who are dedicated to helping members achieve their fitness goals. This new location promises to deliver the same high-quality experience that has made fit20 Exeter a favourite among its members.

In addition Gabrielle Paice and Stephen Lynch will soon open a new fit20 studio in Plymouth. This separate expansion into Plymouth is a strategic move to make the fit20 training method accessible to more people in Devon. The Plymouth studio will offer the same efficient, effective strength training programme that has proven successful in Exeter and is set to replicate the high standards of service and results.

The fit20 training method

fit20’s unique training method focuses on slow, controlled movements designed to push muscles to their limits in a safe and effective manner. This approach ensures that members gain strength without excessive strain or risk of injury, making it suitable for all ages and fitness levels. The training sessions are short but intense, fitting easily into even the busiest schedules.

Duncan explains, “Our 20-minute weekly sessions are based on scientific principles that ensure maximum effectiveness. By training once a week, our members see significant improvements in their strength, endurance, and overall health.”

Client excitement for the fit20 Torquay studio

The new Torquay studio has already generated excitement among fit20 members and the local community. “Great roadside visibility! Us Exeter folks are jealous,” said Melanie Gard on LinkedIn who is an SEO specialist. Al Gibson of Countdown Creative also expressed his enthusiasm, “Amazing! So good to see the progress!”

Another supporter, Nick Verstage, a commercial finance broker, commented, “Certainly looking great, can’t wait to see the finished product.” Linda Humphries, a wellbeing advocate, also shared her anticipation, “Looking amazing already! I’ll pop in one day.” Similarly, Aisling Magill, a strategic brand photography specialist, praised the new location, “Looking good.”

Long-time fit20 enthusiasts are particularly thrilled about the new studio. Callum Pye, an independent financial advisor, mentioned, “Myself and my wife Sally have been members now for two months travelling to Exeter each week from Brixham. Cannot wait to have the fit20 experience much closer to home. Best thing we’ve ever done so well done Duncan Attwood and the team at fit20, particularly Tobias!”

Corporate and community engagement

fit20 has also been successful in engaging with the local community and businesses. One notable example is Janet Sawyer from Little Pod, who has provided fit20 memberships for her entire team. This initiative has improved her team’s health, reduced absenteeism, and increased productivity.

“Providing fit20 memberships for my team has been a game-changer,” Janet says. “The health benefits are clear, and it shows our team that we care about their well-being.”

Looking ahead for fit20 in Devon

With the opening of more fit20 studios in the Southwest the franchise is set to make a significant impact on the local health and fitness landscape. Duncan Attwood’s vision for fit20 includes further expansion to make this innovative training method accessible to more people across the region.

“We’re excited about the future of fit20 in Devon and the potential to help more people improve their health through strength training,” Duncan says. “My expansion into Torquay is just the beginning. We look forward to bringing fit20 to even more communities in Devon.”
