Meet Exeter young achiever, Ben Farrington of Bostik who has been nominated as one of the Top 100 Young Achievers by national trade body, The Builders Merchants Federation (BMF)

Ben who is Bostik’s Divisional Sales Director – Construction was nominated for the accolade based around his achievements within his career so far, and having a positive impact in the sector.
National trade body BMF and Builders’ Merchants News (BMN), have joined forces to identify the Top 100 Young Achievers across the multi-billion-pound building materials sector, and shine a light on the brightest stars of the future.
The Top 100 Young Achievers programme follows last year’s Top 100 Merchant Influencers and Top 100 Supplier Influencers in 2022 and 2023.
John Newcomb, Chief Executive of the BMF, said: “The BMF is an active supporter of young people working within the building materials supply sector and this initiative celebrates the contributions of those who will carry the industry forward in the future and work to make a material difference.
“After the success of our previous initiatives, we’re delighted to be partnering with BMN to highlight the achievements of the Top 100 Young Achievers. This accolade reflects the positive influence Ben has had on the people around him and on the wider building materials industry.”

Ben Farrington expressed how grateful he was to be named within the Top 100 Young Achiever’s list.
“In the six years I’ve been in this industry, it’s great to see more of the younger generation coming through, something which I am proud to be a part of. Having been included in last year’s Top 100 Supplier Influencer and now named as a nominee for Top 100 Young Supplier Achiever, it is another recognition that I am appreciative of. I’m looking forward to a night of celebrating in May.”
The Builders Merchants Federation
The Builders Merchants Federation‘s vision is to enable members to ‘build excellence’ in the building materials sector. It represents more than 950 merchant and supplier companies that collectively employ more than 208,000 people in the building materials industry, performing an essential national function in distributing construction materials and home improvement products across the UK.
Total BMF membership from 1 Jan 2024 stands at 950 merchant and supplier companies who together have combined sales of over £44.9bn and employ over 208,000 people in the building materials industry. The BMF’s 498 merchant members, including 74 from Ireland operating out of 129 branches, make up a total of over 5,800 branches across the UK and Ireland.
