Southwest hotel group, Philema Hospitality Group, has announced the promotion of Laura Cameron to managing director after more than a decade with the company.
Laura’s journey with Philema began in 2010 and she has risen through the ranks, demonstrating a strong dedication to the hospitality industry in Devon and Cornwall.

Laura Cameron’s career with the family-owned Devon and Cornwall group started at the reception desk in 2010. Through hard work and dedication, she became a partner and operations director by 2016. Her recent promotion to managing director marks a significant milestone in her career, highlighting her commitment to the company and the region’s hospitality sector.
“It has been a privilege to work with this incredible team over the years, and being promoted to managing director is a dream come true,” says Laura, expressing her gratitude and excitement. “I am immensely grateful to my colleagues, whose support has been invaluable, and I am honoured to lead them forward.”
One of the notable projects Laura has overseen is the design and construction of 16 new wellness rooms at Boringdon Hall Hotel which opened to guests in the summer of 2023. Additionally, she played a crucial role in Boringdon Hall Hotel’s restaurant, Àclèaf, achieving a Michelin star in March 2023 and retaining it in 2024.

In 2015, Laura was honoured with the Acorn Award, recognising her as one of the brightest prospects in the hospitality industry. She continues to set an inspiring example for young professionals entering the field. “I am so proud of everything we have achieved, and I know that with this team around me, it’s only just the beginning,” she added.
