East Devon based Taylormade Performance and Rehabilitation Clinic has added two recent awards to a collection of accolades recognising its work in injury management, rehabilitation and health and wellbeing.
The Fenny Bridges clinic, near Honiton, run by Andy and Claire Taylor, has been named Best Integrated Health & Wellness Enterprise 2026 and received the South West England Community Impact Excellence Award 2026 in the SME News UK Enterprise Awards.
The latest recognition continues an award winning run for Taylormade Performance and Rehabilitation. The business was named Health and Wellbeing Specialist of the Year in South West England in the Prestige Awards 2020/21 (pictured) and has been a three time winner of Injury Management Clinic of the Year in South West England between 2021 and 2025.

The people behind the awards
Awards provide recognition, but the impact of rehabilitation is perhaps better understood through the experiences of the people Andy and Claire have helped. One client came to Taylormade following a major road accident that caused significant injuries, including damage around the sternum and spine.
As a self employed person whose livelihood depended on being physically capable, his recovery was not simply about reducing pain. He needed to rebuild movement, strength and coordination so that he could return to everyday life and work. Claire worked with him over a period of months. Treatment began with hands on therapy and movement before progressing into clinical Pilates and exercise therapy. As his recovery continued, strength and coordination became increasingly important, eventually leading to functional strengthening work with Andy.
It was a gradual rehabilitation rather than a quick solution. Years later, the client continues to maintain his physical conditioning, having made exercise and physical capability part of his life beyond the original rehabilitation. The story also demonstrates why Taylormade’s work extends well beyond professional or competitive sport.
From ACL injury back to hockey
Another client arrived at Taylormade aged 16 after suffering a knee injury while involved in hockey. The young player had been due to travel to Australia as part of an England related opportunity, but Claire’s assessment raised concerns that the injury could involve the anterior cruciate ligament.
The family decided she should not make the trip. A subsequent scan confirmed a complete ACL rupture. What followed was a much longer relationship with Taylormade. Claire worked with the teenager in preparation for surgery and throughout the rehabilitation that followed. Andy later became involved with strength and conditioning as she progressed towards returning to sporting activity.
She eventually returned to hockey, but the longer term outcome went beyond getting back onto the pitch. Her experience helped develop an interest in coaching, which became a pathway through university and ultimately into teaching. Andy was also able to provide mentoring as she progressed towards becoming a PE teacher. It is an example of how rehabilitation can influence much more than the immediate aftermath of an injury.

Bringing rehabilitation and performance together in East Devon
Andy and Claire bring different professional backgrounds to Taylormade Performance and Rehabilitation. Andy spent years working in professional football before moving into strength and conditioning and education, while Claire developed her career in sports rehabilitation and clinical Pilates. Together they have developed a service that can take somebody from the treatment and early rehabilitation stages of an injury into movement, strength and greater physical confidence.
For some clients, the objective is returning to competitive sport. For others it can be getting back to work, remaining active later in life or becoming confident enough to exercise again. Andy describes what he looks for when assessing movement in straightforward terms: “Can you get into those shapes with Precision, Style and Grace? That’s what I look for when I watch someone move.”
Taylormade’s services include injury management, rehabilitation, strength and conditioning and Pilates, with programmes adapted around the individual rather than assuming every client has the same destination.
An East Devon business making an impact
The latest awards put the spotlight on a specialist business operating away from Devon’s largest commercial centres. From its base in Fenny Bridges, Taylormade works with people with very different rehabilitation and performance needs. Its development shows how specialist expertise built through professional sport can be applied within the wider community.
The 2026 SME News UK Enterprise Award adds to several years of recognition for the business, but the experiences of the people Andy and Claire work with provide a clearer picture of what sits behind those awards.
From helping somebody rebuild their physical ability following a major road accident to supporting a young athlete through ACL surgery, rehabilitation and a return to hockey, the work is ultimately about helping people get back to the things that matter to them.
